Although the village is small - it has several attractions to temp the tourist and local visitor.
The annual 'Paniyiri' (Patronal Festival) takes place during the last week of January to coincide with St Xenophons special day. Great crowds come to the village to take part in the celebrations and the road up to the Church is packed with traffic. Usually the Village Council implement a special one way circuit round the area to avoid a complete traffic log jam! Even the residents living near the church find their roads packed with visiting cars.
The celebrations on Jan 26th 2003 (in 2004 the weather was wet!)
The famous Icon of St Xenophon is displayed outside the original church - where the faithful can touch the holy relic. Inside the church visitors are able to look round both buildings. Here is the inside of the new Church of St Xenophon.
